About Me

While attending a women's conference a few years ago, my girlfriend encouraged me to have my 'colors done'. "What is that?" I wondered aloud. She described her experience and the fun she was having with the color swatch set she received. I was persuaded to get a Color Analysis and quickly discovered that utilizing my new color swatches helped me look and feel more confident.  They also made dressing and shopping a lot easier.

The stylist who analyzed my colors, Shari Braendel, had written a book called  Help Me, Jesus! I Have Nothing To Wear! I decided to purchase the book but then ended up giving it away. I eventually got my hands on the book again and proceeded to read it from cover to cover.
I was eager to learn more. I found myself wanting an image overhaul and dreaming of going to a total makeover retreat in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Unfortunately, I had developed a very unhealthy fear of flying so I settled for taking an online class instead. Here is where I fell in love with the place where inner and outer beauty meet.
I began to realize that the only thing truly holding me back from getting on an airplane was me. I asked myself: "What is bigger, my paralyzing fear or my trust in God?" I decided to take the leap (or should I say flight?) of faith. I overcame fear and saw God work. My faith got bigger and I took another step. I became trained and certified as a Christian Image Consultant (CIC). Today, as owner of Purposely Fashioned, I have the privilege of helping women discover their identity in Jesus through the unexpected avenue of fashion and faith.

I am married to Brian and we have two sons, Eli and Jonah.  I have a Master of Science Degree in Communication Disorders and practiced Speech/Language Pathology for 5 years before becoming a Stay at Home Mom until 2015.

How about YOU?  What's holding you back from taking your next step? Allow me the opportunity to teach and encourage you to develop and share your beauty with the world! You are uniquely created...purposely fashioned!
"For we are God's masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."
